LEADERSHIP TEAM

KARL SYBESMA

Karl Sybesma is the president of A-1 Roofing.  He started A-1 Roofing and Insulation Systems in 1985.  Karl has always been excited to help customers get their roof repaired the right way.  Karl saw the need for a company to prioritize restoration and resurfacing over costly re-roofing projects.  Throughout these 35 years, he has been talking with people on a daily basis about their roofing and insulating needs.  He has seen the full fluid membrane systems that live up to their expectations, and which ones don't.  When you choose A-1 Roofing to solve your roofing and insulating needs, rest assured we have the knowledge and foresight to get your roof fixed with the best possible solution.

KENT SYBESMA

Kent Sybesma, Director of Operations and applicator, has been working with A-1 Roofing for 15 years.  He has been around the roofing and insulating world since his childhood.  His highest priority is that we put a roof on that is exactly what we say it will be, and last as long as we say it will last.  With over 20 years of roofing experience, he knows exactly what full fluid membrane solution is right for your roof.  Kent has a passion to get the right cool roof foam and full fluid membrane system applied with excellence

KYLE SYBESMA

Kyle Sybesma, Crew Foreman and applicator, has been working with A-1 roofing for 10 years.  He grew up around roofing and insulating, and has over 15 year of experience.  Kyle also knows what cool roof and full fluid systems do the job right.  He loves to see when roof systems meet the promised expectations, and desires what is best for the owner.  Kyle's specialty is working alongside and training the crew to have an excellent attention to detail.

Keeping you warm and dry since 1985

Who likes spending money on a roof?  Nobody.  And the reason is simple: you can’t see it.  In fact, typically you forget it exists, until it isn’t functioning properly and it leaks.

For this reason, the roof gets neglected and is allowed to deteriorate beyond repair.  Building owners end up spending a lot more money on their roofs. Conversely, building owners that are proactive and spend money on maintenance, turn their roofs into their greatest asset.

How is this possible?  Your roof turns into an asset because the money you spend up front ends up saving you a large amount of money down the road.  Reactive repairs are expensive and neglected problems always get bigger.

When the budget allows, the best solution is a full fluid applied waterproofing system.  These systems can slow down the life cycle and stop the aging by extending the life of your roof with proactive maintenance.

There are a multitude of options when deciding on how to preserve a roof.  We start with a thorough examination of the current roof condition.  Hopefully, at this stage, owners are being proactive and the roof is not beyond 25% saturation.

Once 25% saturation is reached, the Roofing Code requires the owner to reroof.

If a roof isn’t in need of a full maintenance coating, we have options to tend to the critical points of the roof.  We can also provide annual or bi-annual maintenance programs.  These programs include thorough roof inspections and any minor roofing membrane repairs.
